What We Do

The Lead-In Period

With many projects, making a good start contributes significantly to a successful finish. With off-site construction, the right kind of start is even more important.

Experience shows that it is vital that Oregon's experts are involved in a project as early as possible. If called in at the concept design stage, we can offer advice on structure and layout to help to value-engineer the design. We can also provide technical help such as SAP2005 guidance for energy ratings to support detailed planning applications. This early involvement ensures that the concept designs feed seamlessly into the computer-aided designs, delivering the swift manufacturing process, accurate structural components and speedy build programme which are key benefits of offsite construction. Time spent resolving problems in the beginning saves costly delays later.

Stage 1

An order or letter of intent is received from the client. Following discussions between Oregon/client design teams, draft layouts and sections are produced.

Stage 2

Client approves Oregon's design proposals.

Stage 3

Floor and roof layouts are produced.

Stage 4

Panel drawings and cutting lists are used to mark out timbers.

Stage 5

Offsite production starts with the ordering of materials.

Stage 6

While floor slabs and scaffolding, if required, are completed by the client, production of the structural timber frame components in our factory nears completion.

Stage 7

Sections are delivered to site by our specialist erection subsidiary, Oregon Contract Management Ltd, and the structural frame is erected. This can take as little as one day, depending on the size of the project.

Stage 8

Once the structure is complete it is signed off and handed over to the client.
